Use product-management workflows with an AI Agent before writing the PRD

PM Skills Marketplace is an Agent Skills repository for product managers. At the 2026-08-09 snapshot, its README listed 68 PM Skills and 42 chained workflows across nine plugins: discovery, strategy, market research, data analytics, marketing growth, go-to-market, execution, AI shipping, and a cross-workflow toolkit.

The job it supports

Use it when you want an Agent to work through assumptions, evidence, prioritization, and experiments before producing a polished document. A Skill is a single method or framework. A Command connects several Skills into a workflow. A Plugin packages related Skills and Commands. For example, /discover connects ideation, hypothesis identification, risk ranking, and experiment design rather than merely generating an idea list.

Start with a real product question, such as the largest value assumption behind a feature. Preserve the inputs, judgments, and open validation items at every step. Common starting commands in the upstream guidance are /discover, /strategy, /write-prd, /plan-launch, and /north-star.

Claude and Codex are not identical

Claude Code can add the marketplace and install selected plugins; Cowork offers a more approachable interface for adding the GitHub marketplace. The same Skills can be installed for Codex, but Claude-specific slash commands do not automatically become Codex slash commands. In Codex, request the workflow in natural language—for example brainstorm, identify assumptions, rank risks, design the smallest experiment, and pause at each stage. The upstream's command-to-Codex-Skill approach is explicitly model-driven best effort, so Claude syntax may not transfer completely.

First validation and limits

Test product discovery first: provide context, users, and current evidence; explore possible solutions; list value, usability, viability, and feasibility assumptions; rank impact and risk; design the smallest experiment for the riskiest assumption; then let a human decide whether to act. Frameworks cannot replace customer interviews, product data, organisational constraints, or decision accountability. Installing too many plugins can also increase context load and the chance of selecting the wrong method.
